LA Eyeworks

Founded by industry legends Barbara McReynolds & Gai Gherardi, l.a.Eyeworks was born in 1979 (just like The Optical Boutique), and the world has never been the same. In a very real sense, we have Gai and Barbara to thank for the proliferation of fabulous eyewear that we enjoy today. Their 1980s portrait campaign revolutionized optical advertising, featuring stars like Andy Warhol, Debbie Harry, Grace Jones, and RuPaul, photographed by the one and only Greg Gorman. The quadruple-laminated acetate they use is exceptionally lightweight, allowing them to create pieces that are both comfortable and irrepressibly bold. Though a smaller portion of their collection, their titanium frames are also showstoppers. Designed in LA and handmade in Japan.
