L.A. Eyeworks began in 1979 when Gai Gherardi and Barbara McReynolds opened a single storefront on Melrose Ave in Los Angeles. More than three decades and hundreds of frames later, l.a. Eyeworks remains a privately owned house of optical imagination. Original and always invigorating, the collection is immediately recognized for their bold shapes and expressive use of colour. "A face is like a work of art. It deserves a great frame." This was the ad campaign that changed optical history. Thrust into immediate notoriety in the early 80s, l.a. Eyeworks beloved campaign continues to this day comprising more than 200 provocative personalities captured by photographer Greg Gorman.
